Project Description:

The site is located approximately 8km north east of Kilkieran, Co. Galway on the R340.

The Project included:

  • The construction of a new single span precast / cast insitu concrete bridge.
  • Excavation of 9,000m3 of unacceptable material, Placement of 12,000m3 of crushed stone fill.
  • Installation of surface water sewer 115m of 900mm Diameter,90m of 600mm diameter, 30m of 225mm diameter, 100m of upvc watermain and  40m of 100mm diameter utility ducting
  • Construction of Stone clad parapet walls
  • The demolition of the existing bridge abutments.
  • The construction of a new realigned road. Road Surface Area= 6200m2
  • Supply and erection of Road Traffic Signs, delineators and road markings
  • Ancillary road works.
  • Removal of the temporary bridge and its supports.
  • Associated landscaping of road verges and adjacent green area.
