Project Description:
The Contract consisted of:
- Reconstruction of approximately 600m of N21 carriageway within the urban surroundings of Abbeyfeale. The Works included complete road reconstruction, footways, parking areas and hardpaved streetscape.
- The installation of new storm drainage system, ducting for ESB and Eircom and new street lighting scheme.
- Construction of 2 new gateways to the town. Each gateway consists of new footpaths and cycleways, the erection of traffic signs and street lighting together with approximately 600m of road markings.
Particular challenges included detailed traffic management. No diversions/road closures were feasible. Pedestrian/cycle traffic accesses were maintained at all times.
